The Advanced Manufacturing technician participates in a 3-year training program in preparation for a career in manufacturing and repair of industrial equipment.
Responsibilities / Tasks
- Learn manual and machine-based material processing techniques.
- Learn joining techniques, including thermal joining processes.
- Participate in basic technical training and learn assembly of subassemblies as well as complete machines, including basic of related hydraulics, pneumatic and electric components.
- Complete advanced technical training and learn troubleshooting, repair and testing of equipment.
- Attend and successfully complete all required technical college courses.
- Successfully complete the required midterm and end of apprenticeship skills tests.
Your Profile / Qualifications
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:
- Be a currently enrolled high school student.
- Have an understanding of and be interested in technical and functional relationships
- Have excellent hand-eye coordination and meticulous attention to detail.
- Be physically capable of working in a demanding environment.
Lift weights of up to 50 pounds.
