Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
Primary responsibilities include project formation and execution to support new product integration, automation, and on-going manufacturing effectiveness. This role will provide guidance and leadership in the acquisition and deployment of capital equipment and general manufacturing process solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with New Product Development (NPD) to assess product requirements to ensure compatibility of processing methods
- Drives new product launch, new manufacturing processes, design for automation and new technologies
- Leads the initiatives for future state automation and robust processes to improve quality and cost
- Contributor in future plant layout and capacity planning
- Confirms project process flow to determine what capital equipment may be required
- Responsible for annual capital budgeting and future project funding
- Plans, prioritizes, and manages multiple engineering projects; prioritizes tasks and ensures that the team's overall resources are used effectively and that project deadlines are met
- Reviews and approves recommendations for capital equipment acquisition
- Create processes for equipment acquisition, validation, factory acceptance testing, process capability, and process repeatability.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required
- 10+ years of experience in a fast paced, customer focused manufacturing environment
- Ability and passion to lead and develop engineers
- Experience in Lean manufacturing implementation and tools
- Experience in industry 4.0
- Led value analysis/value engineering events
- Demonstrated project management experience focused on concepting, quoting and deployment of custom automation equipment on time and to target requirements
- Experience managing projects to automate manual manufacturing processes to reduce labor, improve quality, and improve throughput
- Knowledge of stamping, manual welding, robotic welding, powder coating, material handling automation, robotics, sheet metal processing and assembly automation preferred
- Ability to coordinate and manage multi-functional projects through structured Project Management principles
- Experience to read prints and understand geometric dimensions and tolerances
- Sound understanding of mechanical and hydraulic operating systems.
- Proficient in standard business-related computer software such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Auto CAD
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
