Responsibilities:
This position will provide critical input in creating an enterprise strategy for development and implementation of steel cutting and forming processes across Crown’s global manufacturing facilities. A strong commitment towards support of company goals and objectives through innovative approach, lean principals, and leverage of advancing technologies are required.
- Research current and advanced manufacturing technologies and lead the transfer to improve operations.
- Develop detailed business cases for short and long-term strategic manufacturing and capital plans, plant or corporate, and present them to the leadership team.
- Work with cross-functional teams to develop digital work aids within the fabrication processes.
- Work with plant teams (Mfg. Engineering, Quality, Safety…) to review production problems as they are identified and implement solutions.
- Maintain a relationship with equipment suppliers and stay informed on new and innovative technology in the industry.
- Manage medium to large projects.
- Mentor, coach, teach, and develop Manufacturing Engineers and Process Technicians.
- This position will report to an Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Qualifications:
- 8-15 years of related experience
- Bachelor’s degree (non-degree 15+ years of related experience)
- Valid driving privileges
- Frequent travel (6-20%)
- Frequent overnight stays (6-20%)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and equipment and lean principals.
- Laser Cutting, Plasma, Forming, Stamping, Drawing
- CAD experience (AutoCAD, SketchUp, NX, ext.)
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication skills to facilitate discussions at all levels of the company.
- Self-driven with the ability to support multiple projects at once.
- Must be willing and able to travel, including internationally.
