The Advanced Cabin Systems team focuses on delivering new customer experiences through interior and exterior cabin hardware development. Engineers will conduct research, develop/prototype concepts, validate components/modules, features/experiences, and evaluate modeling tools needed to deliver technologies that deliver lower cost, higher quality, and more exciting features to Ford’s customers.
What you'll do...
+ In the Advanced Cabin Systems Team you will support digital and physical vehicle development. The ideal candidate will have an expertise in component & subsystem engineering design fundamentals from concept to production launch.
+ Develop and innovate vehicle interior design concepts to deliver new experiences & features for Ford’s next-generation of vehicles
+ Identify new hardware/technology opportunities for innovating automotive interior/exterior components
+ Foster partnerships and lead co-creation with suppliers, studio designers & marketing specialists, technology planning, and application/product engineering teams to drive successful interior technology adoption in future vehicles
+ Analyze and optimize concepts and designs with analytical and physical assessments
+ Demonstrated ability to be proactive, hands-on, collaborate effectively, and rapidly develop & evolve robust design concepts
+ Effectively communicate results by writing technical reports, invention disclosures and present data to management & internal customers
You'll have...
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
+ 2+ years of Automotive or Transportation experience
+ 2+ year Design and release experience for interior/exterior components
+ 2+ year CAD experience using CATIA/NX/3DX and Teamcenter
+ 2+ Years Experience with vehicle instrumentation, sensing and data acquisition
+ 2+ Experience with experimental design & statistical data analysis
Even better, you may have...
+ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
+ Minor or Focus in Biomedical or Mechatronics Engineering
+ Experience running customer evaluation clinics
+ Experience interpreting CAE analysis output
+ Hands on experience with prototyping and mockups (3D Printing, Raspberry PI / Arduino, etc...)
+ Experience analyzing large sets of data using Matlab
+ Experience with software programming & scripting (Python, V-Basic, C++, etc...)
+ Experience with mechanism & mechatronic system designs (motors, actuators, human-machine interfaces, kinematic linkages, etc...)
+ Familiarity with FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and automotive quality standards
+ Experience developing high-quality inventions and/or patent applications
