Position Overview:
As the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and Staff Development Coordinator, you will support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing clinical care while managing the Infection Control program. You will also lead staff development initiatives, ensuring that all nursing personnel are well-trained and up-to-date with regulatory compliance standards. This dual role will focus on mentoring the nursing team, enhancing clinical competencies, and ensuring infection control protocols are implemented effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the DON in managing day-to-day clinical operations and ensuring the highest standards of care.
- Lead and oversee the facility’s Infection Control program, ensuring compliance with all applicable infection prevention protocols.
- Develop and conduct staff training, including orientation, ongoing education, and competency assessments.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in both nursing care and infection control.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote best practices in patient care and safety.
- Assist with recruitment, staff retention, and development strategies.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state.
- 2-3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing or Long-term Care setting.
- Experience in Infection Control and staff development.
- Strong understanding of nursing regulations, infection prevention, and compliance standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for mentoring and developing nursing staff.
