Job Summary:
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating nursing services within the facility. The ADON works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care, compliance with regulations, and the efficient management of nursing staff and resources.
Work Environment:

Responsibilities:
· Clinical Oversight:
o Assist the DON in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing practices and protocols.
o Ensure the delivery of high-quality care by monitoring resident health and making necessary adjustments to care plans.
o Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
· Staff Management:
o Supervise and support nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
o Assist in the recruitment, training, and evaluation of nursing staff.
o Foster a collaborative and positive work environment through regular team meetings and professional development opportunities.
· Resident Care:
o Ensure that all resident care is delivered in accordance with their individual care plans.
o Address and resolve any resident or family concerns related to nursing care.
o Participate in care conferences and communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
· Regulatory Compliance:
o Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and ensure that the facility adheres to all relevant guidelines and standards.
o Prepare for and participate in regulatory inspections and surveys, addressing any identified issues promptly.
· Quality Improvement:
o Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and facility performance.
o Analyze clinical data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
· Administrative Duties:
o Assist with the development and maintenance of nursing policies and procedures.
o Manage nursing documentation and ensure accuracy and completeness.
o Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication.
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state license for Nbraska preferred.
· Experience: Nursing experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred.
· Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
· Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications required, and certification in Gerontology or related fields preferred.
Skills:
· Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
· In-depth knowledge of nursing care standards and regulatory requirements.
· Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
