Position Summary:
The Admit Representative ensures a smooth and efficient admission process for patients, supporting both inpatient and outpatient services. This role involves obtaining pre-certification information, integrating skills and knowledge to deliver quality work, and fostering effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues. The Admit Representative exemplifies ethical decision-making, compassion, and respect while adhering to organizational policies and regulatory standards to maintain top-tier outcomes in patient experience, quality, and safety.
Position Highlights:

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the admission process for patients, ensuring all required documentation and pre-certification information is obtained.
- Communicate effectively with provider offices, insurance companies, patients, and families to confirm pre-admission details.
- Maintain accountability for delivering accurate and timely administrative support, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Demonstrate ARHS Mission, Vision, and Values by fostering respect, compassion, and a proactive work ethic.
- Assist colleagues, patients, and visitors as needed, promoting a positive and supportive environment.
Position Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
- 3-6 months of experience in a medical or office setting preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with patients, families, and staff courteously.
- Proficiency in typing, word processing, and basic mathematical skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Personable and professional demeanor when interacting with patients and team members.
Compensation:
Starting pay begins at $15.50 per hour, with competitive rates based on experience and education.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods, with occasional standing and walking.
- Frequent bending, squatting, twisting, and turning.
- Manual dexterity and mobility for detailed tasks and data entry.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs occasionally.
Working Conditions:
- Regular exposure to potential hazards, including bloodborne pathogens and odorous chemicals.
- Subject to variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Frequent use of hands, fingers, and close vision for extended periods during the shift.
