We are looking for full time Admissions Nurse.
Days: Monday-Friday
Admissions Nurse Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtain medical history from patients upon admission
- Collect insurance information and have patients fill out the proper paperwork
- Coordinate with physicians to provide comprehensive patient care
- Examine pre-op patients for issues or abnormalities
- Educate patients on operations, treatment, and recovery
Admissions Nurse Requirements and Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing; bachelor’s preferred
- 2 years of skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
- RN/LPN License
- Familiarity with pre- and post-op procedures
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Experience working with vulnerable populations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interview applicants for admission and acquire necessary information anddocumentation; complete required forms.
- Handle financial arrangements related to admission.
- Conduct tours of the facility and grounds for potential residents, families,community, and representative from placement agencies and organizations.
- Act as a liaison with discharge planners.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational programs particularly those that relate to the psychosocial needs of the elderly, community resources, and admission requirements (Title XVII and Title XIX), etc.
- Lecture before groups relative to health-care services available.
- Participate in quality assurance programs.
- Maintain professional confidentiality.
- Follow-up on inquiries and maintain current and active waiting lists.
- Develop long-range and short-range marketing plans, establishing goals and objectives.
- Prepare in conjunctions with Residents’ Account Manager, daily and weekly reports, and monthly and annual summaries of admissions, discharges, sources, classifications, lengths of stay, etc.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills.
- Effective time management.
- Travel and conduct one-on-one or other external community relations activities.
- Maintain close personal contact with all referral sources.
- Coordinate and participate in the facility events as appropriate (i.e., health fairs, family dinner, etc.).
