Job Description
This position will work closely with our executive staff to screen prospective residents to determine the appropriateness of admission. The Admissions Coordinator works with residents/families on the front end of the admission process to ensure an efficient admission process. This position will drive occupancy through the implementation of internal and external marketing while acting as the representative and face of the community in the marketplace.
Essential Job Functions:
• Designs and develops marketing and promotional materials for the facility
• Coordinates advertising, social media initiatives, and public relations to build brand awareness and generate new referrals
• Meets and exceeds sales targets by driving business and generating admissions to help reach and maintain 90% occupancy.
• Develops a measuring system for determining the success of each marketing program
• Arranges and conducts on-site tours with prospective residents and their families Handles all admission screenings and initial inquiries
• Creates unique and personal follow up for prospects and their families
• Able to build and maintain strong relationships with community members, families, organizations, and Senior Citizen's groups
• Builds and maintain working relationships with physicians, clinics, and other health care referral sources, to educate on the facility programs and services to increase referrals and new resident admissions
• Acts as liaison between the facility and family members during the pre-admission and admission process
• The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for all public relations/special events, marketing and admissions screenings for the facility
• Completes admission paperwork with the responsible party, family member, power of attorney, or resident upon admission.
• Works with the Director of Nursing to ensure that all admissions are screened thoroughly and adequately before admission
• Works with the Social Services staff to ensure that all advanced directives have been discussed before admission, so that appropriate paperwork can be in place upon admission
• Responsible for all census development
• Maintains data (inquiries, admissions, discharges, and referral sources, customer satisfaction)
Qualifications:
• 2 or more years of experience in healthcare, preferably in a skilled nursing facility
• LPN license preferred
• Minimum of 1-3 years nursing experience
• Able to communicate using both written and verbal methods
• Able to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, community officials, and the public
• Able to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as independently
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Respect for the principles of resident rights, confidentiality, EEO, and ADA
