We are currently seeking an Admissions Assistant at our Administrative Office in Albany, NY
Job Status: Full-Time / Non-Exempt
Reports To: Admissions Manager
Compensation: up to $18.481/hour
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assists Admissions Manager as a secondary point of contact for the Admissions Department.
- Assists Admissions Manager in working with referral sources to maximize utilization.
- Provides information regarding services to referents, potential clients and the public.
- Completes assigned processes in the assessment and admissions procedures, examples of which can include history gathering and performing screenings.
- Coordinates with Admissions Manager in the completion of necessary paperwork.
- Coordinates with Program Managers and Medical Team for admission approvals.
- Works with Managers to schedule/coordinate admissions appointments.
- Provides or assists with transportation for pending admissions.
- Prioritizes admissions based on SAPT Block Grant criteria.
- Maintains/updates relevant information in the agency’s electronic health record.
- Coordinates with County Social Services Departments to obtain congregate care level II approval for pending admissions.
- Provides Financial Case Manager with necessary fiscal information.
- Locates appropriate referrals within the client’s community or neighboring communities for pending admissions as needed.
- Maintains documents as per OASAS standards and Hope House policies and procedures.
- Provides good customer service to all referents and any person seeking services.
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills by conveying necessary information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed.
- Works as part of team in the Admission Department and other Departments within Hope House.
- Is able to demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, multi-tasking, organizational and time management skills.
- Is familiar with and adheres to current agency policies and procedures.
- Maintains client confidentiality as per 42 C.F.R. Part 2 (Substance Abuse Records) and 45 C.F.R. Parts 160 &164 (HIPAA).
- Adheres to the CASAC Canon of Ethical Principles and Justice Center Code of Conduct
- Participates in all required/mandated trainings.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Six (6) months experience in the Field of Substance Use Disorders or related field preferred
Education and Training:
High school diploma or GED required, CASAC-T or Qualified Health Professional preferred
Possession and maintenance of a valid driver’s license preferred
