LNHA - Licensed Nursing Home Administrator

Essential functions

1. Ability to operate the facility in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the governing body in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
2. Ability to assist in preparation of written policies regarding activities of facility staff.
3. Ability to enforce the facility policies and procedures.
4. Ability to act as liaison to Board of Directors for the medical, nursing and other professional staffs and all facility departments.
5. Ability to prepare or coordinate all reports required by management.
6. Ability to assist in preparation of written personnel policies and individual job descriptions.
7. Ability to supervise all department supervisors and administrative staff.
8. Ability to supervise the recruitment, employment, performance, evaluation, promotion, and discharge of all supervisory staff.
9. Ability to assume responsibility with department supervisors of ensuring adequate staffing
10. Ability to be responsible for all financial transactions.
11. Ability to supervise the confidentiality and safe storage of current and closed resident records, personnel records, and physical plant records with regulatory requirements.
12. Ability to cooperate with the bookkeeping and purchasing departments to assume responsibility for ensuring the proper disbursement of money, as needed, and the proper recording of such transactions.
13. Ability to ensure that all necessary supplies are purchased and available.
14. Ability to develop relationships with local community and civic organizations.
15. Ability to develop one-to-one relationships with residents and families.
16. Ability to arrange with appropriate state and legal agencies for the guardianship of those residents in need.
17. Ability to serve as an active member of all committees, where applicable.
18. Ability to arbitrate complaints and disputes concerning residents, families or personnel according to Grievance Policy.
19. Ability to assume responsibility for reviewing and evaluating all recommendations of the facility’s committees and consultants.
20. Ability to assume responsibility for ensuring that equipment is in operating order and for supervision and management of the physical plant.
21. Ability to interpret all federal, state and local regulations for the facility staff.
22. Ability to establish systems to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
23. Ability to act as a liaison between the facility and regulatory agencies.
24. Ability to act as a liaison between the facility and all resident advocacy agencies.
25. Ability to act as a liaison between the facility and all fiscal intermediaries.
26. Ability to observe all facility infection control, universal precautions, exposure control and hand washing policies
27. Ability to act as chairman of the Safety committee and to participate in establishing all facility safety policies and procedures. Ability to evaluate and participate in establishing fire, weather, emergency procedures. Ability to evaluate and participate in establishing written Hazard Com.
28. Ability to observe all facility policies and procedures relating to resident’s rights.
29. Ability to communicate with Risk Management/Quality assurance to supervise, monitor and evaluate quality issues within Stanton nursing home.
30. Ability to consistently present a professional appearance.
31. Ability to meet requirements of light lifting job demands as defined by post-hire screen through an outside agency.
