Department/Division: Human Services Behavioral Health - MH PATH – City of Virginia Beach
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Pay Rate: $18.64/hr.
General Statement of Duties:
The Opioid Services Administrative Technician will provide office coordination in the SOR program, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, initial screenings for eligibility; requires uploading data to Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and data collection; information tracking; administrative support to clinical staff and completing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
Job Duties:
- Assist SOR Clinician IV/Care Coordinator and Program Supervisor in a variety of professional administrative tasks
- Complete data entry and upload reports to DBHDS as required
- Collaborate with SOR staff
- Compile statistical and/or narrative data into reports
- Prepare narrative reports on a regular basis in support of the SOR program
- Create desktop applications to produce spreadsheets, presentations, or reports for related SOR functions
- Respond to internal and external inquiries by researching and preparing responses with technical substance
- Provide HSD Behavioral Health leadership with reports and data for department/division use
- May prepare changes to and create contractual agreements such as Memorandum of Agreement
- Develop/maintain database to track SOR trainings provided to staff
- Schedule, help plan & set up SOR client referrals to substance use recovery supports
- Assist with agenda development, take and transcribe minutes
- Provide planning and coordination of trainings
- Coordinate with any financial division managing funds for SOR
- Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the Care Coordinator or Program Supervisor based on then current workloads and department needs.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of department/division organization and operation
- Knowledge and skill of current computer software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs
- Knowledge of financial records keeping procedures
- Skill in effective oral and written communication
- Skill in communicating with citizens and/or staff professionally and tactfully
- Ability to generate detailed reports accurately and efficiently
- Ability to research and organize data to prepare clear and concise oral and written presentations
- Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, members, outside agencies, and city officials
- Ability to work independently, but seek guidance when uncertainties arise
- Ability to adjust to typical work stressors and maintain composure in stressful situations
