Office Clerk & Laborer (CDL helpful)
We are looking for someone who can essentially be a jack of all trades doing a wide variety of duties from administrative, to manual, to even some driving if you have or get a CDL. The Lincoln Transportation Depot is a small, but fast-moving location where no two days will be the same!
Scheduled Hours: Monday-Friday, working 35-40 hrs per week, generally between 7am - 4pm
(can be flexible in this time span)
Wage: $17 - $18/hr (depending on experience), plus $1/hr more with Class A or B CDL
Primary Job Duties
Credit Memo Processing (80% of the job)
- This is an investigative oriented role that confirms the what/when/how of credits that are processed. This will include calls to both internal and external individuals to confirm information, determine how to correct, ensure correctly noted for inventory and bill, etc.
Administrative
- Temperature monitoring. Every day will record trailer freezer and cooler temperature, put into a spreadsheet, and electronically forward for tracking purposes.
- Customer service problem solving. Will take calls from sales, customer service, and drivers regarding things like misdelivered products, not on truck and mispicks. Will then work to forward the information to appropriate parties and or solve what is within your role.
- Driver paperwork. Will review the paperwork for all returning driver to ensure it is correctly filled out. May involved reaching back out to drivers to fix.
Manual
- Backhaul and returns processing. For trailers that return with products that need to be forwarded to another location, will pull that off of the trailer with a pallet jack, and put onto the forwarding trailer.
- Customer pickups. Will assist the general public who come in to pick up product and assist with taking to their car.
- Wash out trailers (generally will not do in winter months)
- Empty trash
Driving (if has or obtains a Class A or B CDL)
- Run product to customers or other locations if possible in non-CDL vehicle
- Get drivers who may need a pickup
- Run errands as needed
- If has or obtains a Class A or B CDL
- Recovery runs. At times it is necessary for us to make special deliveries to customers.
- Truck Delivery. May drive a truck to the shop for repairs, or out to a driver.
- Shuttle routes. May cover a shuttle route.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements & Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a valid driver's license with a good driving history
- Pallet jack and forklift experience helpful
- 80% of the job will involve a combination of sitting and standing while doing administrative functions.
- 20% of the time will need to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
