Administrative Program Coordinator
Job Summary
Join our team as a proactive Program Coordinator for the Vice President's Clinical and Transnational (VPCAT) Research Scholars Program at the University of Utah. This unique program supports early-stage faculty in clinical and transnational research through intensive mentorship and resources. We are seeking a candidate with strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate program activities and ensure objectives are met. Key responsibilities include managing curriculum sessions, overseeing the application process, handling program communications, and supporting daily operations. The ideal candidate will work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and contribute to the diversity of viewpoints within our program.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Organize and manage twice-monthly curriculum sessions, including scheduling, presenter coordination, and session execution.
- Lead the annual VPCAT application process, from preparing materials to scheduling review meetings.
- Create and distribute program communications, including monthly newsletters highlighting scholars’ achievements.
- Manage daily program operations, including scheduling meetings and maintaining agendas.
- Collaborate with program leadership to implement goals and objectives.
- Make timely decisions to ensure effective program execution.
- Support database management and reporting functions.
- Act as liaison with stakeholders and other program entities within the Health Sciences.
- Advise staff and stakeholders on program goals and technical issues.
- Assist with program inquiries and issues.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalency) in a related field plus one year directly related experience or equivalency. Demonstrated ability to work independently, analyze and make decisions related to program content. Strong coordination and organizational skills required to prioritize conflicting deadlines. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required.
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience. (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience.)

Preferences
- Master’s degree.
- Familiar with academic and/or research environment.
- Service oriented, can handle tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Possess advanced writing, analytical, and comprehension skills, as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
