Administrative Intern, Human Resources - Spring Semester (100% Remote)

This is a remote position that offers valuable hands-on experience in small-business human resources administration. This is a Spring internship (January 13 - May 9) with the possibility of being extended and/or promoted to a full-time position after graduation (this is not guaranteed but will be an option for star performers).
This internship will be unpaid. Typical working hours will be 15-20 hours per week. Academic credit options will be discussed during the interview process.
Position Summary
As an Administrative Intern in our Human Resources department, you will gain valuable experience and insight into the various functions of HR within a corporate environment. This internship is an excellent opportunity to learn about HR processes, assist with administrative tasks, and contribute to HR initiatives remotely. You will collaborate with various team members and participate in projects aimed at improving employee engagement, recruitment, and overall HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining employee records.
- Support the recruitment process by screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Participate in the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing welcome materials and coordinating training schedules.
- Help organize and facilitate employee engagement activities and initiatives.
- Conduct research on HR best practices and assist in developing training materials.
- Coordinate and respond to HR-related inquiries from employees in a timely manner.
- Support HR team projects and initiatives as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in managing sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HR software is a plus.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of Human Resources.
