This Administrative & GIS Support Specialist role supports our client’s Transmission Vegetation Management department by handling administrative tasks, data management, and GIS-related activities within their work management system. The position requires good communication skills, strong proficiency in excel and other Microsoft applications. Must have ability to support a myriad of administrative tasks, data management and support client GIS records. This position is primarily an in office position with some field work as needed by client. The position is 75% office-based and 25% field-based.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all administrative functions including expense reporting, scheduling, correspondence, and record-keeping ensuring efficient operation of the department.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within the Clearion GIS work management system, implementing data management best practices.
- Develop and present detailed analytical reports and documentation related to vegetation management.
- Provide expert-level GIS support, including complex spatial analysis, advanced map production, and geospatial modeling.
- Conduct and oversee comprehensive field data collection and verification processes.
- Collaborate with senior management, internal teams, contractors, and external agencies to ensure strategic alignment and accurate data reporting.
- Mentor and train junior staff members on administrative and GIS-related tasks.
- Run data queries to identify data issues/data exceptions and highlight areas where data cleaning may be required.
- Flag opportunities to reduce duplications and redundancy in the records review process.
- Run reports from data collection software.
- Communication with clients.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite.
- Occasional work in the field if/when necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the client.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and GIS/work management systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid driver's license.
The chosen candidate will have experience with:
- Two (2) or more years’ experience with administrative support and record keeping work.
- Work Verification/ Vegetation Management Field knowledge and exposure preferred but not required
- Experience working with GIS preferred but not required.
- Project logistics and analytics
- Strong technical / computer knowledge
- Strong MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio skills
- Highly organized
Physical Demands, Conditions, Work Environment
This role is 75% in office environment and 25% field based. - Employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
- Work alone in an outdoor field environment; vehicle and foot patrol of utility power lines; remote locations as well as urban, city environment; physical demands and travel from site to site, including walking/hiking on various surfaces including flat, dry, wet, slippery, uneven, rough, steep terrain, hills, and slopes; exposure to noise, dust, grease, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; exposure to hazardous traffic conditions.
Physical
Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a field environment:
- walk, stand, sit, and operate a motor vehicle for prolonged periods of time;
- frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, run, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp and make repetitive hand movements in the performance of daily duties;
- carry, push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (5 to 10 lbs.);
- operate assigned equipment and vehicles;
- verbally communicate to exchange information with public;
- see and hear in normal range with or without correction;
- operate assigned field equipment, including handheld computer, range finder, water backpack, shovel, and traffic cone.

Pre-Qualifications
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- All candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience
