Administrative Associate/ED Secretary - Sentara

Sentara Health is seeking an Administrative Associate in the Emergency Department at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Hours/Shift:

Full-time, Day Shift, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Position Overview:

As an Administrative Associate in the Emergency Department, you will be located in the heart of the action in the ED. You will support the ED Charge Nurse, staff, and provider staff with communications support for telephones, paging, and call bell. The Administrative Associate is not required to provide patient care however, you will be surrounded by patients and incoming rescues. The Administrative Assistant position requires the application of excellent customer service skills as well as excellent computer and clerical skills.

Education Required:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

One of the following is required:

• One year of previous work experience in a medical office OR
• One year or more of previous work experience in customer service OR
• One year or more of previous work experience in a call center OR
• One year or more of previous clerical experience OR
• Associate or bachelor’s level degree.
