Job Overview
The Administrative Assistant works to assure the effective and efficient operation of the school. The Assistant reports to the Director of Operations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to families, staff, students, and visitors in both English and Spanish via in-person contact, telephone, and email
- Greet and screen school visitors, manage the visitor sign-in log, and direct parents/caregivers, volunteers, and guests in accordance with safety protocols
- Support the planning and coordination of special events including family workshops, open houses, school fundraisers, and field trips
- Identify and document issues and areas needing attention and maintain open communication with school administrators
- Support school emergency response team in drills, safety, and emergencies
- Provide daily front desk coverage as needed
- Support LAMB’s lunch program including menu distribution, collecting payments, placing orders, reporting orders and payments to accounting, and ensuring compliance with all requirements of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
- Support student health rooms and address emergency and non-emergency situations as they arise.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and documents dropped off at the front desk
- Perform a variety of clerical tasks which may include scheduling and maintaining records of school activities, check-in/check-out of supplies and materials, photocopying, typing, and data input
- Ensure office supplies are kept in stock
- Support the Family Services and Operations Teams
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma and two years’ experience performing the duties and responsibilities associated with this position
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, computer, and data collection skills
- Able to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to parent/caregiver, staff, and student needs and information
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work flexibly and collaboratively
- Experience working in a school or community service/outreach setting preferred

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
Reports to: Director of Operations
Schedule: 12-month full-time position (7:00 am - 3:15 pm)
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience, ranging from $40,000-$55,000. Generous benefits package includes medical insurance (health, dental, & vision), retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending account (medical, dependent care, and transit), and vacation/sick leave.
