Administrative Assistant/ Transcriptionist - hcsautomation3

Statement of Purpose: The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support by:

· obtaining information from employee/patients, employers, insurance companies, and others,

· maintaining patient records,

· maintaining schedules,

· billing for services,

· receiving payments,

· interacting with employers and employees,

· handling communications, including mail and telephone.

Under the supervision of the Director of Medical Records or designee, transcribes technical medical data from
recorded or digital dictation; sorts, and distributes transcribed reports and copies to appropriate offices or patient care areas.

Job Requirements:

The successful candidate will preferably have:

· a minimum of one year coding and charge entry;

· experience as a C.N.A. or Medical Assistant;

· successful completion of a two year medical secretarial position or a certificate in medical transcription.

· CMT certification and at least one year medical transcription experience.

· strong organizational, interpersonal, communicational, and filing skills;

· competency in computer use.

Successful completion of a medical terminology class and previous experience as a medical transcriptionist required. C.M.T. (Certified Medical Transcriptionist) is preferred. Computer skills required.
