Administrative Assistant - A.J. DESMOND & SONS FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC.

We are seeking an organized, energetic individual interested in working with us full-time as Administrative Assistant who handles the following: 

• Organizes and accomplishes administrative tasks to prepare for funeral services
• Responds to family needs
• Answers phone and door as needed
• Actively seeks client family’s information; uses it in serving families an assisting directors
• Sends, receives and interprets information clearly and with sensitivity
• Interacts effectively and positively at different levels and with different audiences
• Has an eye for detail and corrects problems
• Displays excellent telephone skills and etiquette using good judgment and compassion
• Inspires others to a high level of customer focus
• Sets and maintains a positive and productive work environment
• Has a pleasant phone manner and professional self-presentation
• Possesses and displays an understanding of the funeral profession
• Ensures that everything is right on every funeral

The successful candidate must: 

• Have at least some post high school courses and at least 2 years experience in a related position 
• Be skilled and experienced in typing and data entry
• Be proficient in the use of various Microsoft Office applications; willing to learn others
• Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills
• Be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from various stakeholders
• Be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Be adaptive, flexible and an outstanding team player
• Be organized, timely and detail oriented
• Be able to juggle multiple tasks while performing well in dynamic and sometimes stressful conditions
• Be able to effectively organize and accomplish daily, weekly and monthly administrative tasks
• Be able to operate video and audio equipment
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Be able to frequently lift and move twenty-five pounds and sometimes more
• Have a willingness to learn

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday and some Saturdays, 8:00am-5:00pm.
