Administrative Assistant-Retina - Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (OCB) was established in 1969 to offer patients the highest quality eye care and laser/surgical treatment.  

We are currently searching for a full time Administrative Assistant to join our Retina Department. This position is in our Plymouth Location and is Monday through Friday 8-4:30PM.

Responsibilities:

• Provides a high level of administrative support.
• Maintains control of and orchestrates physician’s clinical and surgical schedule, outside commitments and meetings.
• Handles a high volume of patient calls and triages appropriately.
• Functions as a resource to patients through verbal and written communication. 
• Communicates with patients to discuss insurance coverage, procedures, lab work and physicals necessary, consent forms etc. and reports questions to physician.
• Schedules procedures at appropriate surgery facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Two years of experience in high volume professional/medical environment preferred.
• Experience with Epic.
• Experience in customer support and services.
• Excellent communication skills, tact and diplomacy.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated skill in organizing, planning and prioritizing.
