This Administrative Assistant position provides administrative support in the X-ray Science Division (XSD). Responsibilities include:
+ Scheduling and making arrangements for meetings
+ Preparing purchase requests
+ Handling travel arrangements
+ Documenting publications
+ Recording and distributing meeting notes for multiple XSD groups
+ Providing primary administrative support for three XSD groups, secondary back-up support for all XSD groups and division-records management
Position Requirements
+ This position requires a hybrid schedule, blending on-site and remote work; on-site presence will be required at the Argonne campus in Lemont, Illinois 1-2 days each week. Additional days on-site for special projects may be required.
+ Responsibilities require the use of independent judgement while maintaining confidentiality and discreetness.
+ Knowledge of modern office practices, record keeping and English grammar and usage.
+ Knowledge, skills, and experience with word processing, spreadsheet applications, and database input.
+ Organizational skills and ability to set priorities and efficiently multi-task to meet deadlines.
+ Skill in verbal and written communication.
+ Interpersonal skills and ability to interface tactfully with diverse internal and external entities.
+ Attention to detail and ability to function in a fast-pacedenvironment.
+ Skill in arranging travel and scheduling meetings.
+ Ability to model Argonne’s core values of impact, safety, respect, integrity, and teamwork.
+ Ability to understand, value, and promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
This position can be hired at one of two levels; the selected candidate will be placed at the appropriate level (SA2 or SA3) dependent upon the depth and breadth of relevant knowledge and skills. The minimum requirements of the two levels are as follows:
+ SA2: High School and 4+ years’ experience, or equivalent. The expected hiring range for this position is $20.97 - 31.37 per hour.
+ SA3: High School and 8+ years’ experience, or equivalent. The expected hiring range for this position is $25.78 - 38.56 per hour.
