Description
The Administrative Assistant I - Grievance & Appeals is responsible for supporting the Grievance Staff as required. The Grievance Resolution System is designed to allow timely resolution of medically and non-medically related issues, complaints/grievances, or appeals by company members and providers.
- Assist Grievance & Appeals Nurse Manager and Supervisors with administrative tasks.
- Update redlines and changes of policies and procedures.
- Maintain and purchase office supplies as needed.
- Collect mail and distribute accordingly.
- Monitor intake and notify management team of escalated cases.
- Assist in the coordination of departmental office administration, including preparation of Member files, maintenance of Grievance Database and Standard Departmental Distribution Lists, and other overall office management, as required.
- Act as primary departmental telephone contact for the Grievance Staff and triage messages as necessary within and outside of company.
- Coordination of Grievance Committees, to include preparation and scheduling of agenda and drafting Minutes.
- Assist in the preparation of grievance cases presented to Grievance Committees, Fair Hearings, and company Board.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in Administrative Assistant position.
- Managed care, Member Service/Customer Service environment experience preferred. Prior Medi-Cal and Medicare experience helpful.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Access.
