Administrative Assistant

Full Time Days * 8:30am-5pm

** Pay rate between $15-18/hr, based on experience **

Lutheran Social Services CHOICES for Victims of Domestic Violence has been the sole resource for victims seeking shelter in Franklin County for more than four decades, providing a Temporary Emergency Shelter, 24-Hour Crisis Hotline, DV Counseling, Legal Advocacy, Peer Support Groups and more.

What will I do as an Administrative Assistant with Lutheran Social Services?

• Welcome all visitors when they arrive at the reception area.
• Answer switchboard and route calls to the appropriate person, department or agency.
• Open and distribute mail, notifying clients of mail/packages.
• Maintain the receptionist desk at all times.
• Make copies, fax documents, order supplies that support the work of CHOICES.
• Assist in maintaining the file room.
• Help to create a hospitable environment for partnership meetings.
• Manage the scheduling of meeting spaces within the building.
• Maintain a professional demeanor at all times with residents, donors, volunteers and other staff.
• Work alongside maintenance and housekeeping to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
• Follow all protocols related to the security cameras, emergency evacuation and access to the building.
• Conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the policies and principles of LSS.
• Update and distribute the telephone listing on a quarterly basis.
• Data entry.
• Provide ongoing support to SHI partner agencies receiving rent or mortgage assistance applications.
• Maintain SHI records, manage program data, and prepare reports and invoices for ED's approval.
• Maintain a list of vendors with W9s on file and share with partners.
• Comply with federal program guidelines and City of Columbus regulations under the ED's supervision.
• Process SHI program applications and submit payment requests to Finance ensuring timely collection, collation and production of statistical information and reports.

Requirements for an Administrative Assistant with Lutheran Social Services:

• High School degree, GED, or equivalent work experience required.
• One year secretarial experience.
• Able to type 50 wpm.
• Computer experience required, Microsoft Office preferred.
