Administrative Assistant - The Salvation Army Eastern Territory

Location:  Fall River, MA

Pay Range: up to $20.55 per hour

Hours:  30 hrs/week

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma
• College/Business School Graduate preferred
• At least two (2) years work experience in field
• High level of confidentiality, discretion, and judgment
• Requires a high level of computer expertise related to Microsoft Applications - Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.
• Must have excellent organizational skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively in a warm, gracious, and professional manner 
• Requires a high degree of initiative; highly detail oriented and organized; and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated skills in written correspondence and verbal communication. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to relate professionally and effectively with key internal and external constituencies including fellow staff, volunteers, donors, and board members.
• Must be able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. 
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.

Provide administrative support to Officers and other staff with a high degree of professionalism, accuracy, judgment, and confidentiality.   Duties include but are not limited to:

General Responsibilities

1. Answer and direct phone calls
2. Sort and open office mail and place in appropriate inboxes. 
3. Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to:
1. Photocopying
2. Faxing
3. Mailing (maintain mailing list, preparing mailing labels, etc)
4. Filing
4. Keep inventory and process requests for office supplies
5. Maintain routine reports and statistics
6. Submit timesheets to payroll on bi-weekly basis
7. Perform other related duties as requested.
8. Maintain all department files according to office procedures
9. Perform all typing duties (including, but not limited to: correspondence, forms, documents, schedules, bulletins, etc.)
10. Maintain an adequate Bring up file
11. Respond to all donations with a thank you card (monetary and in-kind)
12. Schedule social service interviews as required
13. Coordinates “clothe a child” holiday assistance
14. Help with kids’ recruitment paperwork for summer camp
15. Keep the finance database entries up to date
16. Help with bank deposits
