Administrative Assistant - Beacon Hill

About the Job
We are working with an amazing events venue located in Downers Grove to help cover an administrative assistant. This is a maternity leave that will start in the middle of December and go through the end of March. It is a great opportunity for someone who has strong administrative skills and wants to gain more experience in the hospitality industry. This will be a 30-hour work week and will require flexibility to be onsite during events if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Manage inquiries, tours (requires evenings and weekends), reservations, contract negotiations and payment
vendor logistics and insurance requirements
- Coordinate event logistics with onsite staff including property management, janitorial, security, parking, etc.
- Act as day of event manager requiring evenings and weekends on event days
- Maintain venue technology and amenities
- Execute events to achieve high guest satisfaction
Experience
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, accommodating and communicating to a broad range of clientele with varied needs
- Able to think quickly and efficiently when confronted with a client or tenant request
- Motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Event planning, preferably coming from social/wedding events, hospitality industry with 3-5 years' experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of the local area, including event venues, catering, event production and market trend
