POSITION SUMMARY:
The Administrative Assistant / Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for the credentialing and re-credentialing of all facility insurance and hospice contracts. Responsibilities include collecting and maintaining pertinent information regarding credentialing needs for each facility, tracking and recording insurance updates and cost out sheets, maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals in the insurance industry in relationship to job duties. This position will also help support the Contracting Department with any additional administrative needs as deemed appropriate by the VP of Contracting.
Education/Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Email, and Adobe Premier
- Must be able to support the facilities with insurance inquiries and initiation requests
- Must be able to handle incoming and outgoing mail that has to do with the contracting / credentialing process accurately and timely
- Knowledge and application of appropriate methods of business communication including verbal, written, and electronic correspondence
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and facility personnel
- Must be able to work efficiently and meet required deadlines
- Must be extremely detail oriented and organized
- Knowledge of credentialing and insurance regulations as well as laws and guidelines pertaining to healthcare is preferred
- Must be able to collaborate and work well with a team
- Must be able to work at the Beachwood location. (NOT A REMOTE POSITION)
Experience:
- Previous experience in long term care preferred but not required
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a business office setting or a nursing home setting
