Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®), an award-winning and industry-leading environmental, health and safety, and architectural-engineering consulting firm, is seeking a full-time Section Lead (Senior Project Manager) to join our Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) Group. The candidate selected for this position will be a well-rounded environmental professional (i.e., Geologist, Environmental Engineer, or Environmental Scientist). This role will focus on assignments being addressed under provisions of the Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP), and include technical leadership, team management, and business development support.
As Section Lead (Senior Project Manager), this position will manage our Massachusetts-based technical team servicing the commercial, industrial, private, and federal sectors nationwide and will work with a wide variety of clients, from local manufacturers to complex high-visibility Brownfield redevelopment projects and Federal HTRW projects working under provisions of CERCLA and RCRA.
This is a hybrid position based out of the firm’s Corporate Headquarters located in Stoneham, MA office. The successful candidate will report to the SAR Practice Lead and work closely with Mabbett leadership.
Responsibilities
This senior-level position will be responsible for technical management and project delivery, supervision and mentoring of staff, client development and maintenance. Demonstrated experience in all aspects of site characterization, monitoring, remediation projects, project close and reporting across all environmental media required. Management of subcontractors, to include development of subcontractor agreements, monthly invoice and status report preparation, and client follow-up required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Geological Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in site assessment and restoration.
- Managing MCP, other state restoration programs, CERCLA, RCRA, or other federal programs.
- Professional Geologist (PG), Professional Engineer (PE), and/or Licensed Site Professionals (LSPs) preferred.
- Experience managing and mentoring a small group of technical staff.
- Excellent technical writing skills with demonstrated technical experience, including preparing site investigation reports, feasibility studies, cost estimates, remediation system designs, bidding documents and specifications.
- Excellent organizational and personal communication skills; ability to successfully interact with clients, staff and peers clearly and directly.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, as well as a pre-employment physical and drug screen, to include cannabis.
- Ability to travel as needed to support projects as a technical leader.
