Job Description
Assists the ARD Coordinator in all aspects of running the ARD program. The largest function of this position Includes the successful screening of a very large number of cases to determine eligibility to enter the ARD program.
Position Information:
Starting Salary: $17.98 an hour / $35,061.00 annually

Work Hours: This position will work and be paid for 75 hours in a 2 week pay period
Current Cumberland County Employees will follow the County Promotion/Demotion policy.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare for Central Court process. Includes pulling pertinent information from multiple databases, including state and police databases, reviewing the case for any previous criminal charges, and determining whether case Is suitable for the ARD program.
- Contact different police departments on a regular basis to request police reports and other evidence associated with cases.
- Maintain an accurate and easily accessed database of videos and packets sent from the Central Booking Processing Center for all suspected DUIs defendants brought to the Cumberland County prison. Ensure this information is properly distributed per office ‘discovery processes”.
- Prepare files for assistant district attorney's review of the applicant’s eligibility.
- Prepare appropriate court documents and send out the appropriate court notices and document. Expected to maintain accurate contact information for all persons who participate in the ARD program.
- Correspond with private attorneys and public defenders about their client’s status in the ARD program.
- Prepare court orders before court and appear at court with ARD Coordinator. In the case of ARD Coordinator's absence, must be prepared to run the DUI and NON-DUI ARD Court hearings.
- Accurately enter all information received by different offices into database after court proceedings. This includes determining criminal charges based on amount of alcohol or drugs found in defendant's system and the nature of the charges. Constantly update different case tracking methods in office with most current information.
- Answer main ARD phone line and in-person walk-ins and provide answer to ARD participants, attorneys and police personnel about all aspects of court process as it pertains to the ARD program. Transfer calls when necessary to the appropriate person. Return messages left after hours by participants in a timely manner.
- General office duties.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
High school graduate.
Experience with Windows, Microsoft software, and Microsoft Excel
Good typing skills.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
2 years’ experience working in an office.
