What You Will Do
We are looking for a motivated, customer service focused, professional, efficient, reliable, organized, and experienced Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to the Pit Technologies Group Office in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The PT Division provides plutonium pit related products and services of superior quality and value to protect our nation and promote world stability. The NNSA has set a goal for the Laboratory to begin rate production of pits.
The selected candidate will be the primary interface for the Group. You will be expected to uphold high standards of administrative professionalism, customer service, attention to detail and accuracy, confidentiality, discretion, and independent judgement. You must be an excellent problem-solver and be able to anticipate challenges and obstacles and tactfully resolve them. Being a member of the Administrative Team requires close cooperation and assuming responsibility and accountability for deadlines and commitments and demonstrating flexibility and teamwork when conflict arises.
Administrative Assistant 2 $43,000 - $66,500
Provides administrative support for a wide variety of generalized office-related activities. Specific duties may include but are not necessarily limited to tracking and conveying messages; tracking and disseminating internal and external correspondence; maintaining electronic and hard-copy files; coordinating calendars, schedules, meeting logistics, and travel arrangements; ordering supplies; and serving as a resource for staff regarding established administrative policies and procedures. - Scheduling and maintaining the scheduling for group owned conference rooms, including handling conflicting meeting requests.
- Being a resource and actively contributing to a collaborative team environment, working closely with other team members and administrators (both internal and external to PT) through communication, teamwork, and cross-training.
- Fostering a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
- Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills, discretion, and good judgment.

- Basic knowledge of and experience in providing administrative services and activities, including general office management. Knowledge of and experience with office-interfacing software packages.
