About the Job
The Area Court Administrator of the Fourth Judicial District is accepting applications to fill an Administrative Assistant vacancy located in Fairbanks. The successful applicant will provide administrative support to the Area Court Administrator and Rural Court Administrator for the Interior.

Administrative Assistant Major Responsibilities
- Perform administrative support duties for ACA office staff and serve as primary internal and external point of contact for the office;
- Answer phones and assist the public by providing information on court cases, procedures, and records within the scope of confidentiality requirements;
- Process incoming mail, review incoming bills for ACA approval; maintain filing systems;
- Arrange travel and accommodations; and prepare travel and expense documents to submit to the Travel Desk;
- Maintain and distribute law clerk applications for judges' review; prepare welcome letters to successful law clerks; maintain district law clerk schedule;
- Coordinate special court functions and facility use requests;
- Order supplies, special requisitions, and equipment;
- Compose correspondence; schedule appointments and meetings for ACA staff;
- Collect, review, and submit timesheets from all Fairbanks and rural employees on a semi-monthly basis;
The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.

Personal leave accrual is based on years of creditable state service. Those new to state service will accrue 4 weeks of paid leave (with cash value) that will increase after 2 years of service.

This position is assigned to the court's partially exempt service; the incumbent serves "at-will" to the appointing authority.
