Job Description: Position Overview/Project Details:
Temporary Front Office Medical Receptionist. Position is expected to perform medical front office tasks as outlined below.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
One year experience in medical clinic setting. Candidates' skillsets outlined below must be clearly outlined on their resume; otherwise, application will not be considered.
Experience in high volume scheduling and phone handling, as well as experience working in a fast-paced, patient facing, customer service environment.
Medical clinic experience is an absolute must-have. Understanding of health insurance and medical terminology required.
Spanish or Armenian language fluency.
Other skills:
Knowledgeable in Managed Care insurances as well as government payer (i.e. Medicare; MediCal or Medi-Medi)
Knowledge of new patient registration in EMR (electronic medical record) system (EPIC is a plus)
Skilled in prepping future patient visits by reviewing patient demographics and medical administrative forms such as consents, privacy/HIPAA forms, etc.
Skilled in verifying eligibility through health insurance website, phone calls, medical group portals, etc.
Knowledgeable in medical groups/IPA authorization submissions
Excellent in following up outstanding items (i.e. MD orders, authorizations, eligibility verification, messages (hospital, insurance plans, patients, doctors, etc.)
Skilled in scheduling patients with multi physicians
Skilled in reviewing patient co-pay and obtaining copayment from patients
Check incoming / outgoing faxes and distribute to clinical staff members accordingly
Skilled in reviewing physician orders in EMR and coordinating patient scheduling in other departments
Verifying patient demographics and update information in EMR at each visit
Experienced in documenting outgoing/incoming phone calls in EMR
Excellent in customer service
Greet visitors entering the organization and direct them to the correct destination.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with supervision.
Knowledge of telehealth and signing up patients onto patient portal
Skilled in answering in-basket messages via EMR in a timely manner
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
