Our client, a world-leading Pharmaceutical Company in New York, NY is currently looking for a Writer to join their expanding team.
Job Title: Writer / Copy Editor / Proofreader (HYBRID WORK)
Duration: 12 months contract, extendable up to 36 months
Location: New York, NY
Hybrid Work: 2-3 days/week Onsite

Job Description:
Pharmaceutical's Enterprise Colleague Communications and Engagement team is looking for a highly creative writer/copy editor/proofreader who can turn around a large volume of articles in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with speed and accuracy.
The writer/copy editor/proofreader will help the client editorial team create daily content for client, our internal news site that reaches all our more than 84,000 colleagues globally.
The ideal candidate is a storyteller with an editorial mindset who's equal parts journalist and corporate communicator.
You understand the difference between editorial, marketing, and promotional content and can masterfully weave Pharmaceutical's strategy and purpose through storytelling into the words you edit and write.
Responsibilities:
Copy Editor/Proofreader 50%
Edit content from writers and subject matter experts.
Restructure copy to create better flow and clarity for audiences and ensure writing tone and voice match company branding and editorial requirements.
Edit, fact-check, and proofread content to make sure grammar, syntax and punctuation are used correctly and style guides are followed.
Ensure correctness and accuracy, and all content produced adheres to Client style and editorial
guidelines.
Writer 40%
Write and source content for three-day-a-week colleague engagement newsletter with responsibility for entire project end to end.
Write articles for daily publication to Client.
Develop stories from conception to completion (research, interview colleagues, write, manage approvals).
Cover a wide range of topics across our business, finding new and innovative ways to bring stories to life.
Manage approvals with internal business partners.
Editorial Support 10%
Write and improve headlines and summaries that will grow readership and engagement.
Select images for articles and homepage.
Set up and publish daily content to Client (serve as backup).
Requirements:
Experience in broadcast media (e.g., tv, radio), print (e.g., newspaper and magazine), or digital publication (e.g., BuzzFeed, Oprah Daily).
Exceptional writing, copy editing, and proofreading skills (Share portfolio of 3-5 writing/editing samples)
Excellent editorial judgement and the ability to craft clear, compelling, audience-centric content that explains complicated ideas in ways that resonate and deliver value.
Knowledge of AP stylebook.
Ability to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Self-starter with an ability to work autonomously.
Strong self-management and organizational skills.
Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with a broad range of internal business partners.
Team player who can work in a collaborative, cross-functional, and highly matrixed environment.
Attention to detail and deadlines.
Works well under deadline pressure with speed and accuracy.
Comfortable working with content management systems.
BA/BS in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Media, Marketing, or related field.
Familiarity with graphic design, web development, and video production is a plus.
Familiarity with SharePoint is a plus. *System used.
Interview:
A writing exam and proofreading test will be administered at the HM discretion.
