About the Job
PURPOSE OF POSITION
To assist the department in maintaining the daily operations of the department from an ancillary operations standpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
- Comprehensive knowledge of the following systems: MPAC, Cerner, RevRunner, AHIQA, Compliance Checker, CPI, Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Registration of all new patients in Cerner.
- Maintain schedule for patient appointments in Cerner.
- Update training manuals to comply with changes in registration processes.
- Maintain registration handbooks, original copies of paperwork, and stat book for registration processes.
- Maintain spreadsheets/data collection of documents for AASM accreditation.
- Verify schedules, make charts, pull charts for patient appointments.
- Ensure all patient orders, H&Ps, and other paperwork has been received.
- In conjunction with Central Scheduling, verify pre-authorizations have been submitted by the ordering physician office and approval has been received.
- Maintain patient charts for 30 days after visit. Scan paper documents into EMR and shred contents after monthly audit.
- Manual charge posting of Sleep Lab patient visits if Cerner billing process is not functioning. In conjunction with lead sleep tech, verifies billing entered by PSG techs is correct .
- Provide excellent communication to Unit Director of Sleep Lab concerns.
- Exemplify excellent customer service skills in person and on the phone.
- Use HRO tools and tones. Represent the department as HRO champion.
- Serves as a role model and educational resource for the department.
- Adhere to regulatory readiness and assists in performing department audits.
- Follow all hospital and department policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma, minimum
- Ability to type at least 35 wpm
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Ability to work calmly and accurately in stressful situations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Professional manner and appearance

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Day shift coverage 7:00am-3:30pm
- No weekends/holidays.
- Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day
- Sitting/standing/moving about during working hours
