Job Summary:
We are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our Employee Benefits (EB) Projections Team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the division to monitor the company's performance against strategic goals. Your primary focus will involve conducting experience studies, financial planning, reporting, and forecasting specifically related to group insurance. Your insights will play a crucial role in informing decision-making processes and driving successful business outcomes through meticulous actuarial analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Management Reporting: Develop models for reporting actual, forecast, and target projections of EB business, integrating inputs from various departments. Effectively communicate findings to management to guide corporate/division financial strategies.
- Strategy and M&A Integration: Integrate financial, valuation, and management reporting related to longer-term strategy and recent acquisitions into actuarial models.
- Data Analysis/Information Systems: Extract, analyze, and prepare data for actuarial modeling purposes. Interpret and present numerical data related to pricing, reserves, and other actuarial analyses. Maintain and understand actuarial software and applications.
- Dashboard/Front-End: Utilize tools such as SAS Enterprise Guide, Power BI, Dataiku, or Databricks to work with large data sets and troubleshoot tools. Produce customized reports and dashboards using Excel, PowerBI, and Python.
- Analytical Skills: Utilize actuarial, financial, and industry knowledge to resolve complex issues creatively. Tackle complex problems with a blend of quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Skills and Background:
- Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in mathematics, actuarial science, business, or a related field preferred. ASA designation required.
- Experience: Prior experience sufficient to have gained a seasoned actuarial business perspective is required. Understanding of group insurance products preferred.
- Actuarial Exams: Must be willing to continue preparing for and passing actuarial exams to maintain continuing education requirements.
