About the Role:
As an Actuary, you'll play a pivotal role in our team, developing complex actuarial models and projecting financial results based on the best available data and business insights. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of premium rates, leveraging your deep understanding of risk factors, product features, and market dynamics. Your work will involve communicating findings effectively to various stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams in complex initiatives.
Essential Duties:
- Perform advanced actuarial analysis with a high level of independence
- Communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Develop and justify business recommendations based on rigorous research and analysis
- Lead collaborative efforts across teams to achieve actuarial objectives
- Support the development of state and federal rate filings and product designs
- Assist in the design and pricing of products to meet market demands
- Contribute to the development of rating systems and pricing tools for enhanced accuracy and efficiency
- Mentor and support the growth of junior team members as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong skills in SQL and VBA
- Ability to articulate complex actuarial concepts to senior leadership and colleagues
- Experience in developing premium rates based on regulatory requirements and market dynamics
- Expertise in conducting detailed actuarial analysis and forecasting within the insurance industry context
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant actuarial experience in dental or group life, disability, and supplemental products
- ASA (Associate) designation from the Society of Actuaries
- Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries
- Compliance with continuing education requirements
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries
- 10 years of related actuarial experience
