We need an Activity Director to join our team at Heritagespring Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Chester, OH.
$44,000 to $51,500 Per Year
As Activity Director, you’ll oversee the activity department to promote the psychosocial, spiritual and emotional well-being of residents, families and staff.
You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Ensuring the department provides appropriate & meaningful therapeutic groups, 1:1, & individual activities to meet specific resident needs
- Overseeing resident care plans, progress notes, CAA’s, & group/1:1 documentation
- Recruiting, interviewing, hiring & orienting new team members for the Activity Department with involvement/assistance from the Administrator
- Supervising activity assistants & assisting in recruiting, interviewing, & orienting volunteers
- Assuming responsibility for scheduling/staffing including designees, assistants, payroll, performance evaluations, counseling & discipline
- Participating in administrative staff meetings, QAPI meetings, resident care-related meetings, & quarterly staff meetings
- Overseeing the Customer Service Survey process
- Conducting monthly Resident Council meetings & ensuring proper follow up of resident issues
- Advising & coordinating Grievance Committee
- Activity programming - Communicating with other departments regarding activities & special events for residents, families, employees, & members of the community (grandparents program, church service, etc.)
- Coordinating private parties for residents per family’s request
- Organizing “Into Lunches” and Outings
- Scheduling entertainment, special programs & performing groups
- Coordinating food related activities via dietary order
- Planning & scheduling activities for monthly calendar: group, 1:1, theme weeks, & more while ensuring therapeutic group activities occur as scheduled
- Managing & keeping a running balance in the activity checking account & preparing monthly budget forms
- Sending special invitation/announcements to residents’ families for special events & parties
- Coordinating voting for residents
- Driving bus for resident activities
- Assisting with the coordination of staff retention program
You’ll Need To Have:
- Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting;
OR
- Eligibility for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist by a recognized accrediting body;
OR
- Qualifications as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant;
OR
- Completed state approved certification course for Activities
