Activity Director - Manahawkin Health and Rehabilitation Center

Manahawkin Health and Rehabilitation Center located in Manahawkin, NJ  is currently interviewing for an Activity Director to lead our resident life enrichment department.

The Activity Director reports to the Nursing Home Administrator, and will be responsible for directing the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program in accordance with Federal, State and Local standards. This also includes directing the Activity Program with scheduling of activities, both individual and groups, implementing and/or delegating the implementation of the programs, monitoring the response and/or reviewing/evaluating the response of the programs to determine if the activities meet the assessed needs of the resident and making revisions as necessary.

This is a full time position, working Monday- Friday with some weekends as department needed.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Reviews departmental policies and procedures to ensure they are current
• Develop and administers department budget
• Determines departmental staffing, working hours, assignments, etc., to maintain quality resident care
• Reviews and evaluates employee performances annually or as required
• Ensure that department personnel have valid and current licenses as required by the state and facility

Job Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree with a major area of study in recreation, creative arts, therapeutic recreation, art, art, education, psychology, sociology or occupational therapy.

OR

• A high school diploma and 3 years of experience in resident activities in a health care facility

OR

• Hold a current certification from the National Certification Counsel for Activity Professionals
