Competitive Pay and Bonus Potential!
Salary – $18.00 to $22.00/hr (based on skills and years of experience)
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Completed training course approved by state of employment and obtain certification.
3. Caring person with a desire to work with the frail and elderly.
4. Preferably previous activities experience in a nursing facility.
5. Ability to prioritize duties.
6. Ability to work as part of a team and leader.
7. Ability to establish and maintain optimum rapport with residents, family members and regulatory agencies.
8. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
a. Plan, organize and coordinate an activity program according to established policies.
b. Plan group and individual activities designed to restore self-care and well-being and geared to the individual's needs and interest.
c. Develop an appropriate plan of activities for, and visit residents who are bedfast, unwilling or unable to participate in group activities.
d. Preparing facility activity calendar.
e. Organize, schedule and supervise activities according to the interests expressed by residents.
f. Select and supervise volunteers, families, community agencies, etc. to develop and maximize the activity program for residents.
g. Supervise and work effectively with other members of the department.
h. Encourage resident assistance with and participation in scheduled activities.
i. Establish and maintain community involvement and create a home-like atmosphere for residents.
j. Transport or oversee the transportation of residents to outside activities.
k. Document observations and plans of action in appropriate records; (ie: MDS, Care Plans).
l. Participate in care plan meetings.
m. Prepare reports and recommendations regarding the operation of the Activities Department.
n. Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions and other information relating to residents, employees and facility.
o. Perform assigned tasks in accordance with facility guidelines and procedures.
p. Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents' activity preferences and needs.
