Tomanage,communicate,supervise,planandcarryoutactivitieswhichmeettheneedsofallresidents.
EssentialDuties
1. Planningandimplementationofindividualandgroupactivities.
2. Scheduleseventsthatpromotephysical,cognitive,social,andemotionalhealth.
3. Activitiesprovidedduringdays,evenings,andweekends.
4. Utilizescommunityresourceswithinandoutsideofthecommunity.
5. Carriesoutactivitiespartofcareplan.
6. Incorporatesresidents'interestsintoactivitiesanddiscussion.
7. Givesresidentsopportunitiesforchoicesandself-expression.
8. Identifiesandprovidesadaptivedevicesforthosewithsensorydeficits(i.e.,large-printbooks,taperecorders).
9. Promotesself-esteemandsocialinteractionwithresidents.
10.Identifiesandprovidesactivitiesforthosewithspecialneeds(i.e.,depressed
terminally ill,bedridden).
11.Encouragesparticipationandinvolvementofallresidents.
12. Postsmonthlyandweeklyschedulesthroughoutthefacility.
13. DirectsupdatestothescheduleandR.0.boards.
14. Preparesforandparticipatesinresidentcareconference.
15. Completesandupdatesresidentassessmentsinatimelymanner.
16.Providesactivitiesthatrelatetoresidents'interestsbeforetheycametothisfacility.
17. Providesopportunityforresidentstolearnnewskillsanddevelopnewinterests.
18.Maintainsacleanworkandstoragearea.
19.Usesproperbodymechanics
20. Followsproperinfectioncontrolpractices.
21. Observesforresidentsafetywheninresidentcareareas.
22. Chartslegibly,withstandardgrammarandspelling.

Qualifications
• Noconvictionsforabuse,neglectormistreatmentorformisappropriationofproperty.
• Promptandregularattendance.
• Hasabachelor'sdegreeinrecreationtherapyandiseligibleforregistrationasatherapeuticrecreationspecialistwiththenationaltherapeuticrecreationsociety.
• Has 2yearsexperienceinasocialorrecreationalprogramwithinthepast5years,oneyearofwhichwasfull-timeinapatientactivitiesprograminahealthcaresetting:or
• Isanoccupationaltherapistoroccupationaltherapyassistantwhomeetsthe requirementsforcertificationbytheAmericanoccupationaltherapyassociation
• If notaqualifiedactivitycoordinator,mustreceiveatleastamonthlyconsultationfromaqualifiedactivitycoordinator.

• Abilitytoread,writeandmakesimplecalculationsandfolloworalandwrittendirections.
