Lead the Way to Enrichment as an Activity Director at Kingston Healthcare
Are you passionate about creating meaningful experiences and enhancing the quality of life for older adults? At Kingston Healthcare, we’re looking for an inspiring Activity Director to develop and lead a dynamic program of activities and events that nurture the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive well-being of our residents.
As the Activity Director, you’ll partner with residents, families, and staff to create a vibrant and fulfilling environment where every day offers opportunities for joy, connection, and engagement.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement engaging and therapeutic activities for residents with diverse abilities and interests, such as arts and crafts, music, games, outings, and special events.
- Lead group activities and offer personalized, one-on-one interactions with residents to ensure meaningful engagement.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess residents' needs and develop individualized activity plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activity participation and resident progress.
- Supervise and train activity staff and volunteers, promoting excellence in programming and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and the community to encourage participation and foster support.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, therapeutic recreation, or a related field (preferred).
- Certified Activity Professional (CAP) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience in long-term care, assisted living, or a similar healthcare environment.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for working with older adults.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in activity programming for healthcare settings.
