About the Job
What Does This Job Include:
Greeting the day by assisting the residents in and around the dining room in memory care and then on assisted living.
Encouraging residents to maintain and develop their fullest potential for living through participation in activity and recreational programs in memory care and on assisted living.
They will work in conjunction with the activity director.
Be willing to assist and work with volunteers and be able to utilize their assistance.
Getting the caregivers involved in assisting with group activities.
Inventory needed supplies for a variety of different activities.
Contributing new ideas for the monthly activity calendar.
Following the monthly activity calendar on the days scheduled to work.
Willing to ensure that activities are offered to each resident as identified on the resident service plan.
Participating in required monthly In-Services.
Will leave the activity room clean and orderly at the end of their shift.
Maintains a good working relationship with all customers; including residents, family members, community, vendors and staff.
May be asked to work different days or hours should a special activity/event that requires more activity assistance, fall on a day off.
Willing to provide 1:1 visits/interaction with residents that are not attending group activities.
Will refrain from gossip of any kind and conducts self professionally.
And any other duties required by Activity Director or Administration
Universal Precautions:
Exposure to blood/bodily fluids is likely.
Physical Requirements:
Has ability to do occasional heavy lifting of residents (up to 40 lbs.).
Qualifications:
- Must be 17 years or older.
- Must be in good health and properly immunized against infectious diseases, including measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus and diphtheria.
- Must provide written proof of recent TB test or obtain within two weeks of date of hire.
- Must have current Food Handlers Permit.
- Must be positive and encouraging and have the ability to motivate residents to participate in activities.
