Activities Director – Assisted Living Facility (ALF) Job Posting

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Activities Director to design, coordinate, and implement engaging programs for residents in our Assisted Living Facility (ALF). The ideal candidate will have a passion for enriching the lives of seniors through recreational, social, and wellness activities that promote community, joy, and a sense of purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development:

  • Create and manage a diverse calendar of activities that includes recreational, educational, social, and wellness-focused events.
  • Tailor programs to meet the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of residents.

• Resident Engagement:

  • Encourage resident participation and actively seek feedback to enhance program offerings.
  • Build positive relationships with residents to understand their interests and needs.

• Event Coordination:

  • Plan and oversee special events, celebrations, and outings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of activities.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Supervise and train activity staff and volunteers.
  • Work closely with the caregiving team to integrate activities into the daily care schedule.

• Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, resident preferences, and activity outcomes.
  • Manage the activities budget and procure necessary materials and supplies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in recreation, therapeutic recreation, or a related field preferred).
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in planning and leading activities in a senior living or healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and the ability to adapt programs to meet diverse needs.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and documentation.
• Certification in Activities or Therapeutic Recreation (preferred or required depending on state regulations).
