Overview
Credence is seeking Acquisition Specialists for directorates within Space Systems Command (SSC).
SSC is the U.S. Space Force field command responsible for acquiring and delivering resilient war fighting capabilities to protect our nation’s strategic advantage in, from and to space. SSC manages a $15.6 billion space acquisition budget for the Department of Defense and work in partnership with joint forces, industry, government agencies, academic and allied organizations to accelerate innovation and outpace emerging threats.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
- Assist in guiding multiple teams across all Program Offices from the initial phase of the acquisition lifecycle through the contract award process by mentoring, advising, leading training workshops, reviewing documents, staffing documentation, scheduling meetings with senior leadership, and facilitating communication support in the formulation of acquisition strategy/plans and in the review of requirements documents across SSC programs as needed.
- Ensure adherence to policy and guidance, technical approach and technical requirements, milestones, forecasts, risk assessment, and realism in achieving a product suitable for decision making. SSC programs.
- Review and ensure Program Office teams’ requirements and corresponding documentation comply with current DOD and Air Force best practices.
- Support the Program Offices in the following acquisition events: Go-Ahead, Early Strategy and Issues Session Preparation (ESIS-Prep), Early Strategy and Issues Session (ESIS), Acquisition Strategy Review Board (ASRB), Pre-Acquisition Strategy Panel (Pre-ASP)/Other Transaction (OT) Plan, Acquisition Strategy Panel (ASP)/Acquisition Strategy Document (ASD), Solicitation Review Board (SRB), Request for Proposal (RFP), RFP Release, and Hot Washes. Hot Washes are conducted after ASP/ASD approval, RFP release, and contract award.
- Develop new and continuously improve existing training workshops to include scenario-based workshops to Program Offices across SSC including Los Angeles AFB, Peterson AFB, and Kirtland AFB to support programs in various stages of the acquisition.
- Advise Government teams using proposal scenarios and technical writing training in defining source selection discriminators.
- Assist in the development of selection tools, procedures, and processes.
- Educate source selection teams on the procedures, processes, and use of source selection tools.
- Effectively communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical and administrative accuracy in a professional manner.
- Use standardized and specialized software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office, and any other DoD/OSD/AF required system.
- Support the Commercial Satellite Communications Office (CSCO) with the development of new CSCO acquisitions and contracts and with modifications to existing contracts.
- Skilled in writing both acquisition and technical related documentation, possess excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and with various stakeholders.
Education, Requirements and Qualifications
- An active Secret security clearance is required.
- Masters Degree in related field.
- A minimum of 10 years demonstrated related acquisition experience.
- Prior experience with the development of source selection documents (Source Selection Plans (SSP), Initial Evaluation Briefing, Comparative Analysis Report, Source Selection Decision Document, Evaluation Notices, Final Proposal Revision, etc.) IAW FAR, DoD, AF Instructions, and SSC policies.
- Knowledge of the laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management is required.
- Must be experienced in the federal acquisition process, have a strong comprehension of Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense supplements.
- A background in systems procurement and/or the ability and enthusiasm to grasp the underlying requirements.
- Strong writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work closely with teammates and customers across internal and external organizations.
- Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force and Space Force, processes, and procedures as it relates to their functional responsibility.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
- Skilled in writing both acquisition and technical related documentation, possess excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and with various stakeholders.
