Acquisition Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Springfield, VA with remote flexibility
Clearance: TS/SCI
The Acquisition Policy Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a pivotal role in supporting the major agency in the U.S. Intelligence Community. The ideal candidates will have experience shaping the direction of policy and ensuring that it aligns with organizational or governmental objectives. Prior experience as a Contracting Officer with an unlimited warrant (CO) is strongly desired.
Responsibilities:
Policy Development: Develop and review acquisition policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with the customer's mission and objectives. Stay updated with evolving regulatory requirements and best practices in acquisition policy. Lead the development and strategic planning of policy initiatives.
Advise decision-makers on policy options and implications.
Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR), agency-specific regulations, and other applicable guidelines. Guide acquisition personnel to ensure adherence to established policies.
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary point of contact for acquisition policy inquiries. Provide expert advice and interpretation of acquisition policies to stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive experience (at least 7 years) in acquisition policy development and implementation, preferably in a government or defense contracting environment.
- In-depth knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and policies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required.
