The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the administration of financial transactions related to vendor payments, ensuring all bills are paid accurately and on time by processing invoices, verifying purchase orders, reconciling discrepancies, preparing payments, and maintaining detailed financial records, all while adhering to company policies and procedures. This role reports to the Accounts Payable Manager.
Responsibilities:- Reviewing incoming invoices for accuracy, matching them to purchase orders, and entering them into the accounting system (JD Edwards)
- Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies, including price errors, quantity issues, or missing documentation
- Communicating with vendors regarding invoice queries, payment status, and any issues
- Reconcile statements to ensure accurate ledger balances.
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
- Maintains historical records by scanning and filing documents
- Protects the organization's value by keeping information confidential
- Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
- Previous experience in Construction accounts payable preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in accounting software and data entry
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for vendor interactions
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
Computer and Software Skills
- Prior experience with JD Edwards is preferred
- Proficient in using core MS Office Suite products, with a notable focus in Excel and PowerPoint
Wage Range: 26.35-39.47/Hour
