We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting responsibilities with a focus on accruals, ensuring that all financial data is recorded accurately and timely. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the financial stability and growth of a leading scientific organization, working closely with a team of dedicated professionals to drive financial success.
Responsibilities
As an Accountant, you will:
1. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions; resolving discrepancies.
3. Summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
4. Maintain the general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
5. Prepare fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
6. Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
7. Complete external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
8. Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
9. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
10. Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO’s attention.
11. Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary.
12. Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
13. Coordinate semi-annual audits and assist CFO with conducting audits.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of related experience in the Scientific industry or a similar role.
3. Proven expertise in GAAP, Journal Entries, Reconcile, Financials, Income Statement, Fixed Asset Accounting, Monthly Reporting.
4. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.
7. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
9. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
10. Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
