Core Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the firm's accounting operations, including AP/AR, billing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Oversee trust accounting and IOLTA compliance.
- Process attorney time entries and handle client billing requirements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage cash flow and banking relationships.
- Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and maintain internal controls.
- Coordinate with partners on financial planning and budgeting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to work independently while managing and guiding team members.
- Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of meeting critical deadlines.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3 years in law firm accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and law firm accounting principles, with proven experience in legal billing software and trust accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and developing staff, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification.
- Prior experience with legal practice management software.
- Knowledge of Missouri/Illinois legal billing requirements.
- Experience with financial analysis and forecasting.
