A day in the life of an Accounts Receivable Specialist might include:

A day in the life of an Accounts Receivable Specialist might include:
- Collaborating with project management to ensure accurate and timely entry and posting of billings and subcontractor payments in line with the monthly closing schedule.
- Prioritizing collections, providing vital AR data to management, and assisting in the preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts.
- Actively managing, tracking, and reporting on a high volume of AR information, which may change on a daily basis.
- Generating necessary reports and analyses for effective project cost management alongside the Project Management team.
- Setting up A/R contracts and processing project billings.
- Monitoring accounts receivable for 20-30 projects in collaboration with Project Managers, issuing reminders, and making collection calls as needed.
- Preparing monthly billing packages, which vary by project.
- Processing daily cash receipts and ensuring subcontractor compliance before processing payments.
- Effective communication across all team levels and escalating issues to management as per billing SOPs is crucial.
