About the Job
A premier manufacturer and distributor of precision equipment is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist with a strong background in collections to join their New Albany, IN accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable functions efficiently while also maintaining a focus on collections activities to ensure timely payments from customers. The Specialist will work closely with a Senior Accountant and assist with accounts payable when time allows. Highlighted Duties:
- Process accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely
- Prepare and send invoices to customers
- Follow up on overdue accounts and implement collections strategies to secure payments
- Communicate effectively with customers to resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
- Maintain accurate records of collections activities and customer interactions
- Analyze aging reports and prioritize collections efforts accordingly
- Collaborate with internal teams to address customer inquiries and resolve disputes
- Provide regular updates and/or reports on accounts receivable status to management
- Process invoices for accounts payable function as time allows

Highlighted Requirements:
- 2+ years proven experience in accounts receivable and collections roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (ERP system experience desired)
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field a plus
